A Little About MyselfLike all academics, I spend a lot of time at my desk. When I need a break from my computer screen, I love to camp, hike, take in beautiful landscapes, and just generally be outdoors. I'm terrible at drawing and painting, but I love artistic endeavors involving fabrics and yarn (crotchet, macrame, sewing, etc.). To stretch my mind, I seek out intellectually stimulating podcasts, books, and conversations. Language is my passion. I dabble in multiple languages and enjoy experiencing cultural nuances through the lens of another language. Linguistic puzzles are fascinating and vastly under-appreciated in my humble opinion. I enjoy outreach activities and spreading a deeper understanding of the astonishing complexity, beauty, and diversity of the world's languages. |
